Hungarian woman who recovered from the coronavirus tells her story

Anett Sveicer, a former coronavirus-infected patient who has recovered from the disease, told her story on Füred TV. Anett was occupied in Austria as a waitress in Ischgl, which is now considered a COVID-19 infection hotspot. Anett was working at the time of the outbreak as she said they were not aware of the problem, Szeretlek Magyarország reported.

“When we found out that there were people there who had already been infected, our employers told us not to talk about it. If anyone were to ask us, we needed to tell them we were fine, and we should continue to work. All that mattered to them was the business and the money.” When the ski paradise closed, they were told that they had one hour to pack their stuff and flee.

“My colleagues and I were not afraid of being sick, we believed that even if we got the virus, we would be fine because we were young and strong, and we would get through it.”

Anett drove home alone, her family and friends encouraging her from Hungary. She said she had a headache and she was dizzy on the way home. After arriving in Balatonfüred, she was placed in voluntary quarantine. On the third day of her time at home, she started to feel sick, and she showed symptoms of illness; however, she had no respiratory problems. She vomited and her head hurt a lot. The doctors were wondering why she had no respiratory symptoms, even though she had asthma.

Anett is glad she managed to recover from the virus rather easily.

“I found the information about who to call on the internet, so I called the appropriate agencies, and an ambulance was sent from Ajka almost immediately. Since I was in observed quarantine, I was not allowed to leave the house. The police came to check on me at 10 a.m. when I told them they do not have to come up because an ambulance was already on the way for me. Until then, they took care of me and secured the premises, ensuring that the ambulance would reach me. They were there with me until the ambulance arrived.”

She told Füred TV that she was naive at first. She thought she would be brought in and tested, then she could go home immediately. “I was wrong. I only received an infusion the first day, they tested me the next day, and the results came on the following. The test was unfortunately positive.” By then, she already knew that one of her colleagues who remained in Austria was infected.

They told her at the hospital that “your body would defeat the virus”, and she received no special care. She was the only one infected in the county at the time. In Ajka, she felt that people were “afraid of her”, but she could understand that.

Anett offered to talk to COVID-19 patients of the hospital in Balatonfüred because she knows how difficult it is to be isolated from the world and to fight the disease alone. She has recovered and is already healthy. She feels fine, and she wants all patients to fully heal as soon as possible.
